Tenor James Callon, right, curses science and faith in the title role of "Faust" during rehearsal at West Bay Opera on May 8, 2015. At left are stage director Ragnar Conde and music director Jose Luis Marcovich. Chorus director Bruce Olstad accompanies on piano. The rehearsal started about 10 minutes late, and Moscovich told everyone they would speed up by 10 percent, which drew a laugh. Then Olstad played a little bit of the fast piano riff he called "woman on the train tracks music," and got a bigger laugh.
